
In this Tedx talk, regenerative organic farmer Gillian Flies explains the carbon cycle, and why she and her husband gave up their corporate jobs to help heal the planet through regenerative farming. By incorporating no-till techniques like the use of tarps instead of tillage, they were surprised to find that not only could they sequester more carbon in their soil but also improve yields, decrease labor, and increase profits.
“If we can increase the amount of carbon we have stored in our soils around the world by just 0.4% per year, we could absorb all of the excess carbon we currently emit,” she explains.
