Oil Prices–They Are No Surprise.
Mike Nickerson (still a CACOR member in 2025) wrote that we should not be surprised that people of the day were facing rising oil prices. We had built our cities, indeed our entire economies, around long distance transport of cheap energy that was starting the become less available. He questionned why we might continue this pattern of behaviour when the ultimate end-point is clear–we will run out of cheap energy.
