Time: Nov 2, 2022 13:30 Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Summary:
The presentation will provide a critique of Premier Doug Ford’s plans to ramp up the use of fossil gas for electricity generation and home heating. It will outline how Ontario can reduce its greenhouse gas pollution and its energy bills by investing in energy efficiency, wind and solar energy, cold climate air-source heat pumps and by increasing our electricity trade with Quebec, including using Quebec’s hydro reservoirs to act like a giant battery for our wind and solar energy. We will also discuss how we can work together to persuade Prime Minister Trudeau to promulgate federal Clean Electricity Regulations that will move Ontario to a zero-carbon electricity grid by 2030.
