Energy Evolution: Ottawa’s Community Energy Transition Strategy is the action plan for how Ottawa will meet the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the community by 100 percent by 2050. Its vision is to transform Ottawa into a thriving city powered by clean, renewable energy. On October 28, 2020, Ottawa City Council unanimously approved Energy Evolution, signalling the beginning of a new era. Work will now begin on developing and implementing the 20 Project Pathways identified in the strategy in collaboration with the community. On February 11th, 2021 for our Virtual Green Drinks we welcomed three members from the City of Ottawa’s Climate Change and Energy Evolution Team: Janice Ashworth, Mike Fletcher and Rebecca Haggen. Each detailed a few of the Project Pathways, outline what you can expect to see as the City moves towards its climate goals.
