Summary:
PBS has produced a fine, six sessions, series on the future of energy in Oregon. The sixth presentation is a summary of the previous five and contains several presentations by Dr. Charles Hall. It sets up a discussion of the possibilities for our medium-term energy future. We will play this sixth presentation and then explore its contents and implications.
Biography
Charles Hall is a Systems Ecologist trained by Howard Odum at the University of North Carolina. He has taught various courses on ecology, systems and energy at Cornell University, University of Montana and The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He has published 15 books and 330 scientific papers, many in the “best” Journals. He is best known for developing the concepts of EROI (Energy Return on Investment) and BioPhysical Economics. He retired in 2013 and now lives in Ashland Oregon, where he continues to publish on these topics.
