Climate Friendly Travel   – World Tourism Strategy 2019

Now the World’ s largest economic sector,  employing more than any other, tourism is taking climate risk seriously.  The World Travel and Tourism Council  in concert with SUNx , issued the following report on making tourism more sustainable in the face of climate change in New York simultaneously with  the UN climate conference.

Tourism is one of the sectors most vulnerable to climate change.   Most of its infrastructure is in coastal zones, mountains and other fragile environments.

It sells experiences which are very climate dependent.  It is also a significant  contributor to fossil fuel use – including transportation.
