1996 Series 1 Number 17 Page 14
Fred Belaire made this presentation to a CACOR lunch in February 1996.
Among other things, he thanked Dr. Rennie Whitehead for reminding members that CACOR was not, at the time, an environmental advocacy group. That was in a recent editorial Dr. Whitehead wrote in the association newsletter. However, Fred went on to issue a call to action (his words). As he was chairman of the Global Systems Centre at the time, he proposed it, among other institutions, for education and research into the global problematique.
Fred referred to the work of Dr. Robert Hoffman, long-time CACOR member and systems modeller.
Fred shared Ilya Prigonine’s hope that we can build a world which will present less inequality, less inherent violence, while preserving the benefits of civilization.
