This was a 10-year-later review by Rennie Whitehead of the CoR conference held in Paris, France, in October 1988. It was quite detailed, with a total of 7 pages.

The conference was opened with a speech prepared for the Prime Minister of France, Michel Rocard, who was unable to attend.
Introductory remarks by Dr. Alexander King included the fact that the Club of Rome was conceived in Paris. He reviewed the problematic and concluded that a great transition was necessary.
Edgar Pisani represented the President of France, Franҫois Mitterand, and delivered an opening address in which he called for re-examination of our values, the role of the state, and the roles of growth and balance.
The conference touched on the scientific approach, changing technology, energy in the environment, financial and economic disorder, inequality, disparity an uncertainty, ethical and spiritual values, and education and training.
At the end of the conference the Aga Khan summed up the conference by saying that it had provided him enough material to last a year.
