Removing carbon from atmosphere can be simple and low tech

Nextbigfuture has listed simple and low cost and scalable carbon dioxide mitigation since 2009 and there are new ones as well.

These methods will be faster to scale than complicated and industrial intensive carbon capture at coal and natural gas plants and factories and creating massive national and global pipelines to move the captured gas into underground storage.

These methods are:

 

• Expand Commercial Kelp Growth by 100 times
• Iron sulphate in the ocean
• Biochar sequestering
• Factory mass produced high rises
• Black Carbon free cookers
• Diesel particulate filters for cars and trucks
• Electrification of vehicles
• Retrofitting existing buildings
• Green cement which can absorb carbon dioxide
• Scaling up of regular nuclear power and hydro power
• Nuclear fission technology
• Slash-and-char vs. slash-and-burn
• Lighter roads and roofs and soot mitigation
