Summary:
Following the election of the new administration in the US, there has been significant interest in enacting policies that will accelerate the deployment of EVs as part of a desire to reduce GHGs. Canada has recently announced the desire to harmonize with the most stringent US policies. This talk will review current policy in North America as well as in the rest of the world and combine that with automaker commitments and other data to provide some guidance on what EV adoption rates can be over the next 15 years.
A short Bio:
Raymond’s concern for environmental issues convinced him to purchase an electric vehicle (EV) over 8 years ago which lead him to become President of the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO). Since retirement from an IT strategy consulting career, Raymond has spent much of his time researching and advocating for EVs of all sizes from light duty to medium and heavy duty vehicles. This led to a successful campaign to get OC Transpo to transition to e-buses. Raymond has attended Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project Leadership Corps and holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
