In 1993, new CACOR member Georges Rivoche discussed whether CACOR ought to embark on a program to educate economists and politicians, organize the promotion of the program, and use innovative alliances to integrate the economy and the environment. His thoughts were prompted by his reading of CACOR’s ‘Statement of Purpose’ at the time, which he described as identifying specific aspects of the sustainability challenge, being a catalyst in seeking solutions, identifying possible roles, and promoting their implementation.
[In 2022, CACOR is embarking on an advocacy program that is reminiscent of Mr. Rivoche’s proposal. This analysis may prove useful to current CACOR members involved in the venture. Ed.]
