The New Commons – A CACOR Lunch Meeting – 30 Sep 2026 at 11:00 EST

CACOR Members and Associates are invited to the following CACOR Live in person event
Speaker: Lalith Gunaratne
Subject: The New Commons
Time: 30 September 2026 11:00-3:00 Eastern Time (US and Canada)

The speed of sociotechnical transformations since Elinor Ostrom’s Governing of the Commons in 1990s and the Club of Rome/CACOR’s September 2013 themed Conference in Ottawa, prompted CACOR’s Values Group to address the emergent Values, Limitations, Challenges and Prospects of the Old and New Commons.
A panel of four speakers (Tim Lash, Paul Maillet, Michael Nickerson, John Verdun), a moderator (Lalith Gunarathne) and a lead (Gabriela Gref Innes) will introduce various perspectives, from the evolution of the Concept of the Commons to the New and Emergent Ones.
The introductions will be followed by a dialogue and explorations over lunch. Part 2 of the event, after lunch, will be a sharing of the entire group’s ideas and proposals.
Members are encouraged to bring a GUEST!!
Registration fee (which will include lunch) is just $20, accepted online or paid at the door.
This is a live in person event. The introductory presentations will be available as a recording following the event.
Benefits of membership:
