Graeme Maxton is the Secretary General of the Club of Rome A trenchant critic of modern economic thinking, he is the co-author (with Jorgen Randers) of Reinventing Prosperity, Managing economic growth to reduce unemployment, inequality and climate change, (Greystone, October 2016). The German edition was the No1 best-selling economics book on Amazon.de. Graeme is also the sole author of The End of Progress: How modern economics has failed us (Wiley, 2011), which was nominated for the FT’s Best Book about Business Award and has been translated into several languages. It was a top-20 Spiegel best-seller. Before joining the Club of Rome, he was regional director of the Economist Group in Asia, with strategy consultants Booz.Allen Hamilton and in banking, with Citibank and American Express. Born in Scotland, he currently lives in Zurich.

You are invited to CACOR’s 2017 Annual General Meeting which will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2017, in the main ground floor dining room of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 (address and directions below). Cost of attending the AGM: $10

Following the AGM, CACOR is holding a reception and book sale from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the bar for members and guests.
At 12:30 Lunch will begin. This will be a buffet style event. The menu, includes a soup as first course, a main course of beef, chicken and ham/cheese sandwiches, a dessert and coffee or tea. For vegans, vegetarians and those with food allergies, a special menu is available.
At 1:15pm, our guest speaker, Graeme Maxton, author of Reinventing Prosperity, will give a keynote address on ‘Why The Limits to Growth was right and what we need to do now‘.
Cost for Luncheon and Keynote address: $30 for members; $35 for non-members.
Madeleine Aubrey and Philip Cockshutt will be at the door at 8:30a.m. near the Main Entrance of the Golf Club to register members for the AGM and members and guests for the Luncheon.
Attire: Business attire or golf attire is requested at all times. Denim and cargo pants are not permitted. For gentlemen: jacket and tie (not mandatory), collared shirts, polo shirt, tailored slacks, or suits. For ladies: dresses, suits, skirts with blouses, tailored trousers with blouses or evening pants.

The Club is wheelchair accessible with an elevator.
Directions: From Ottawa, proceed north across the Champlain Bridge, turn right on the (upper) Chemin Aylmer and look left for the Club’s entrance gate which is almost immediately on your left. Proceed through the gate to the parking lot where there is ample free parking.
