Our climate is already a disaster and net-zero will not restore it. We all want to give our children the same safe CO2 levels we experienced last century. That is called climate restoration. It’s a new paradigm for climate action based on the premise of “Humanity flourishing for millennia to come”, or “Ask for what you really want, not what you think you must settle for.” New analysis shows that nature removed 20 Gt CO2 / year following the Pinatubo eruption, and 35 years later that 20 Gt has not come back into the atmosphere. There is currently only one hypothesis that explains the data result: Localized ocean fertilization, sometimes called “ocean eddy fertilization”. It’s been done safely by nature, we understand the science, and the cost is low. Corporations have budgeted all the needed funds for their net-zero commitments. What is stopping this from happening? Who is the gatekeeper? It’s certainly not us, right? How do we open the gate to implementation?”
Biography:
Peter Fiekowsky, has led the climate restoration movement for 15 years. He is author of Climate Restoration: The Only Future That Will Sustain the Human Race (2022), is an MIT-educated physicist and Silicon Valley entrepreneur with 27 patents. His vision is humanity flourishing for millennia to come. To that end, he founded the Humanity Day organization, the Foundation for Climate Restoration, the Grandparents Fund for Climate Restoration, and most recently Eddy Carbon.
