Recorded during the first lock-down of 2020, “Critical Zones” is a series of virtual events titled “0bservatories for Earthly Politics”. All about the critical situation of the Earth! Donna Haraway (biologist, philosopher, feminist) has written dozens of books and articles – an enriching intersection of science, feminism, climate change, and anthropology. Her prolific career also includes two epic science fiction books, titled The Cyborg Manifesto (1985) and Staying With The Trouble (2017). Bruno Latour was a French philosopher, anthropologist and sociologist. He was especially known for his work in the field of science, human relations and proliferation of technology. He passed away in 2022. Winner of the Holberg prize (2013) and Kyoto Prize (2016), Latour is most famous, for his argument about the fallacy in the old object/subject and Nature/Society, that deeply influences the very idea of ‘modernity’ in current society.
Together for the first time, over a video conference, Donna Haraway and Bruno Latour engaged in a lively fun presentation.
