“The Earth is in a death spiral. It will take radical action to save us”: George Monbiot says it like it is yet again. See The Guardian article here. Life is going down as we sit and read. Vertebrates are disappearing, as are insects and other invertebrates and plants are not faring much better, if at all. Can you feel the suction cleaning out life? Can you hear it? If not, you’re not listening. And another news item this week. Our country, yes Canada, is in the forefront of the CO2 climate destruction parade.
Canada is in the group of countries which are pushing climate breakdown to over 5 degrees (along with Russia and China). Are you happy about this? If not, what are you doing about it? See The Guardian article here. Look at the map, and hang your Canadian head in shame.
My questions are simple. How much of this will CACOR members put up with before actually doing something? What are members doing to force the government to change it’s fossil fuel course? Do we prefer climate breakdown to action? Do we prefer to watch the slow motion (in human terms anyway) destruction of all we know so that Alberta will vote liberal? Are the lives of our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren worth so little to us?
Will we ever wake up? I hope by now you’re mad, as mad as I am!
