Considering a Future of Possibilities.
This was a four-page article by Sheila Murray (liaison on the project for the CACOR Board of Directors) and Gail Stewart (report coordinator). It summarized the work of a four-person team to produce a report on the World Problematique. Team members were Charles Beaubien, Dr. Nancy Doubleday, Dr. Roberts-Pichette, and Dr. Jerzy Wojciechowski.
In unanimity, the team stated that it was important to put aside previous biases and approaches and offer “a future of possibility rather than prediction.” They saw poverty and environmental challenges in abundance, but were full of hope that the human condition and course could be changed.
The team’s report was discussed at the AGM in June 2005. That was followed by a special session for discussion in September 2005.
[These Proceedings contain an explanation of the process for preparation and consideration of the report (see the second link below), but I was unable to find an electronic copy of the file, nor could I find a paper copy. Ed.]
The discussions appear to have raised many questions, but few answers.
