Joe Gray, a friend of mine and an associate editor of The Ecological Citizen has written a fabulous little book, Thirteen Paces by Four, about life in his backyard.
I wrote earlier, after reading the book:
“I very much liked Thirteen Paces by Four. I’m going to buy a copy, both to have and to lend, when it’s published. Joe’s excitement with and love for the natural world is infectious – if you allow it to, it’ll change how you look at previously seemingly mundane places and beings.
Joe’s effortless storytelling provides the framework that allows him to express his most interesting and unusual personality, his ecological ethics and a wealth of biological knowledge.
This small book is a treat to read, and I urge everyone to get a copy. You’ll be glad you did.”
