The fight over California community solar: ‘It’s everyone vs. utilities’

Environmental engineers talking at a solar farm
Community solar and storage in California could be a game-changer for clean energy and affordable housing. A coalition is urging regulators to implement the Net Value Billing Tariff (NVBT) to revamp the state's community solar market and unlock its potential. With the NVBT, California could become a leader in community solar, enabling the development of 8 GW of solar paired with batteries.
